This submission is good-to-go for adjudicating :) Sorry to have hijacked this submission thread with the emulator discussion, but it's resolved now. I'm not sure how the cheats work with the emulator, but if anything were to look out of order (I'm sure it's legit), someone here would spot it. Rapid fire and cheats weren't shown unchecked, but, rapid fire isn't an issue with BT (salt? lol). Hopefully, anyone who didn't follow this thread, or anyone new to TG, would check around to see what emulator is being used first, before submitting.Ĭhristopher's Burger Time submission here was played in NTSC. Now, too bad the forums that something like this would be posted in, are archived. No one has posted anything negative about it ColEm and CoolCV (obviously) works for SGM games, so let's wrap it up.Done. I gave it another shot just now and had the same slow running game.Īlright, you're cool with ColEm as the main emulator, and CoolCV for SGM games. I'm cool with Colem as the official Colecovision emulator and CoolCV for only the "Super Game Module" games.Yep, that's the version I tried. I played my AtariAge HSC Coleco Mario Bros. If ColEm gives you, or anyone else trouble though, having both for all games would be the way to Hmm, that's odd. CoolCV gave me trouble running Mario Bros. It's tricky, because you want everyone on the same "page" (there may be some slight speed differences between emu's), but you also want everyone who's interested to be able to play - If one emu has issues for someone, chances are, the other won't. I started thinking how the C have only one emulator. Having to press F4 (twice) seems like a requirement. Question: Will this also be allowed to use for non "Super Game Module" games?Perfect. Question: Will this also be allowed to use for non "Super Game Module" games? I guess if we want to verify NTSC/PAL settings, have all user press F4 (change to PAL), then F4 again (back to NTSC). It also loads by default as NTSC and I don't see any option to change that.Īs for rules, just play the game on this one. The configuration options are limited, no cheat option or autofire from what I see.
Personal notes: I've only used this emulator to play a few games, mainly the "Super Game Module" dependent home brews, ie: SHMUP!. To load game, drag and drop rom on "CoolCV.exe" or shortcut.į4 to switch between NTSC and PAL (forces reset)į5 to enable/disable Roller Controller supportį6 to record a video (AVI with ZMBV codec)į7 to enable/disable information of keys/joystick for configurationį8 to switch speed of ADAM tape/disk between normal and ultrafast Mappings File: "Users/%USER/Documents/coolcv_mapping.txt"

Supports: Mac OS X (10.9.6 or higher), Linux, Windows and Raspberry Pi. Sure, I quickly put this together tonight: I see the hardware charts list both PAL/NTSC together however, this chart does not specify anything other than the game's default settings (obviously Skill 1).Īs for more current emulators, I definitely recommend Colem 4.0 and others have said good things about CoolCV. I think NTSC should be the default for emulation, frankly. It sounds like a slow crawling piece of crap when you have it on PAL, but the speed and sound look just right on NTSC. PAL is the default on that emulator, oddly enough however, I switched to NTSC from the get-go. Should PAL or NTSC be used, for starters. Is that what you played your Burger Time game on, Christopher? We'd also have to come up with some basic rules for the emulator.

Anyone else interested, feel free to chime in and we can make a community decision on a new emulator. Maybe he can check out Colem and see how it works for him. I think that's the only thing that makes it the "Twin Galaxies is interested in Coleco emulation. If games don't work with it, what's the point? It's not on par with VICE and Stella, which are quality emulators that everyone loves.
